He is the current president of British Thoracic Society and member of NIV guideline writing groups for the British Thoracic Society\, the European Respiratory Society\, and American Thoracic Society. He is responsible for developing the home sleep and assisted ventilation services\, for acute in hospital NIV and weaning of patients with prolonged ventilator dependence at St James’ University Hospital.
