The platform helps by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connecting people with MND to the relevant parties.\u00a0Contact us at <a href=\"https:\/\/wa.me\/60129013798\">+6012 9013798<\/a> (WhatsApp) OR <a href=\"mailto:mndmalaysia@gmail.com\">mndmalaysia@gmail.com<\/a> to get assistance.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leasing of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">palliative<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> care equipment for people with MND that have been discharged and registered with us. Equipment required depends on the availability and the disease progression of a person with MND.<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"#equipment\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#howwehelp-equipment\">Learn more about leasing of equipment.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scheduling home visits to the residence of a person with MND.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Educating the families of people with MND about caregiving in order to support a person with MND at home.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organising events &amp; activities for people with MND (and their families) to socialise and stay connected with society.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connecting MND-related medical professionals (Doctors, Nurses, and Therapists) in hospitals nationwide to effectively diagnose and provide the required <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">palliative<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> care to manage the disease for people with MND.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Does MND Malaysia provide financial aid?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>No, MND Malaysia does not provide financial aid. People with MND and their family members should consult with the following to find out what entitlements\/benefits are claimable under their terms &amp; conditions:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Insurance Provider.<\/strong> MND is covered under \u201cCritical Illness\u201d by your insurance provider. Please consult with your insurance provider to learn more about your insurance coverage.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.perkeso.gov.my\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) \/ Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO)<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>If you are employed and registered with SOCSO\/PERKESO, please consult with them for more information.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kwsp.gov.my\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Employees\u2019 Provident Fund (EPF) \/ Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP)<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>EPF\/KWSP covers MND under \u201cNervous System\u201d for medical problems withdrawal. You may make a withdrawal from your Account 2 to help cover the medical expenses for approved illnesses or healthcare equipment. Please consult with them for more information.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jkm.gov.my\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>The Department of Social Welfare \/ Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM)<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>JKM provides welfare services under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga, dan Masyarakat). Please consult with them for more information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"equipment\"><strong>What <\/strong><strong>equipment does MND Malaysia provide<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on the disease progression of each person with MND, the equipment will help them live the best possible quality of life with MND. The leasing of equipment is dependant on the availability and must be returned to us when it is no longer needed by the person with MND so that the next person in the waiting list can use the equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MND Malaysia only leases equipment (free-of-charge) to people with MND that are discharged and registered with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The equipment lease is only available for people with MND under ALL the following conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have a household income that falls within the \u201cBottom 40% (B40)\u201d income group in Malaysia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the equipment they have requested from the Social Welfare Department (Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat or JKM) is not available OR is pending approval.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The types of equipment that are on lease:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medical Respiratory Ventilators (Trilogy-100, Bipap AVAPS Dreamstation, Cough Assist)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Communication Eye Tracker (Tobii)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"resources\"><strong>Free Resources<\/strong> <\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Communication Cards. <\/strong>Printable cards with alphanumerics and icons for communication between a person with MND and other people. <a href=\"https:\/\/mndmalaysia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/MND-Malaysia-Communication-Cards.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">View PDF<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). <\/strong>A guidebook of FAQs for people with MND and\/or their carers to help throughout the MND progression.
